Tonight was the night, the dance. lyane was head of the committe, so if this didn't turn out perfectly, then everybody would be pointing at her and blaming her. She had spent weeks getting ready for this dance. Of course, she came early so she could set up for the dance.
She had straightened her hair perfectly, taking an hour. Then she slipped on her dress that she had picked out in advance. It was green or blue, it was a cross between the two colors. It brought out her shocking blue eyes. Her dress was complimented by her silver shoes.
She got to the dance, waiting for the others who were in her committee. There was Ellie, a sophmore who was brand new to the school and volunteered right away to help. Then there was Lauren, a sophmore who had curly blonde hair and had stood up to Brooke. There was only one island Princess on the ocmmitte, and that was Clarisse who was in charge of food.

God, they better like the food. Clarisse thought. If they didn't like the food, it was her fault. That would not happen to her. It couldn't. She had cattered the found from a fancy, and delicious resturant. So, everyone pretty much would like the food. If they didn't...she couldn't think of that. It would be horrible. The dance would be perfect. It had to be, considering the head of the commitee was an Island Princess. It would be horrible for their reputation if it turned out horrible. But, they did have their secret weapon. So, it would all work out in the end. She hoped.
Her gold heels were silent as she walked into the nearly empty beach. The only other person there, was the head of the commitee. Lyane. She should have known she would already be there. She flipped her dark hair over her should, revealing real gold hoops. Then again, it was obvious they were real. Considering she was the richest girl in the school. At least, at the moment she was. It was pretty obvious it would stay that way, though.
Clare walked over towards Lyane. Her gold eye shadow shimmered, bringing out her brown eyes. Her red lipstick shone in the light, the perfect shade to go with her dress. Her outfit was totally perfect, and in-fashion. Her perfect face sparkled. She had a good nose job at the moment, which definately helped. She stopped when she finally reached her friend. "Hey, Lyane." Her voice was quite, but did have authority in it. Later, it would probably be loud and carefree. That was later, not know.

a familer face walked towards the dance area of the beach. she walked quiet slowly with her arms crossed and her head down so her blonde hair fell into her face. of coarse it was danica voesy. what other girl would look pissed about having to go to a dance. dateless not to mention, oh and forced because of that stupid prep thing. the others came to her only hours ago and told her to attend. she found it rediculous, but oh well. hopeully she'd run into one of the few nice people that were at this school. approaching the dance, she saw clarisse and lyane, those island princess girl. she shook her head and walked over to a table, seating herself in a chair. she hated dances. there was simply no point to dancing around and causing silly dramas and making each other cry over it. that was why danica was rarely ever at one. ever since and incident in grade school in paris. it was too detailed for her to even explain but it ended with a punch bowl and tying arms an dlegs with streamers. crazy.

Dances weren't exactly Jason's scene. While he was still in the kings, he had to attend all of these social events. He figured that as long as he was going, he should probably look good. He put on a pink (yes, pink) shirt, as well as a tie and vest. His pants were white, which might be a bad call if he sat down in the sand.
He made his way to the dance, treading along to the beach from his dorm room. He was thinking about ditching the dance altogether, but he was already dressed so he just continued down the path. Once he got there, he immediatley spotted the food. He walked over to the food table while listening to the Jonas Brother's song, "Video Girl." As he took a mini pizza, he scanned the corwd for someone he knew. He spotted Danica, the blonde he had met to Starbucks. He walked over and said a simple "Hey." He took another bite as he waited for the answer.

Demi looked into the mirror and smiled. She was wearing a gorgeous dress, a cream color with golden ribbon wrapped around it. Over it, she wore a cropped light brown vest-like jacket, accompanied by her brown, yet almost golden sandals. Gorgeous, but perfect for dancing. Her nails were painted a dark chocolate brown, and her eyes were complimented by red eyeshadow and a little mascara, making her brown eyes pop. She also wore some very light lipstick. Her hair layed in it's natural curls with a red tie-around headband, the reason why she was wearing her red eyeshadow. She fixed her curls into place once more, making sure they were perfected before anyone saw her in public. She grabbed her purse, brown, matching her outfit by accident. She slipped her dorm key and cell phone, along with some money, into it, and headed down to the beach, where the dance was being held. It seemed like just the other night when she had been there for the BBQ, where drama between the cliques had made her want to hide under a rock. But it was ad different scenario tonight. The stars were out, matching the theme, and the weather was perfect as she strolled down to the beach. She saw some people that she recognized form the BBQ, but she did not dare talk to them. She did not know any of them very well, except for Lyane, so she did not know if they would be like Brooke, or hate her yet. But the scenario with Lyane was similar, as well. Demi now felt like she was almost not allowed to talk to Lyane, because of Brooke. She took all of these things into mind as she sat down in a chair and fixed her dress, that fell a bit above her knees. [/size]

Lauren looked around at the dance floor. She saw Lyane and Clarisse talking, and Jason and Danica hitting it off. She walked straight over to the pasta station and started to fill a plate. Next were the drinks. Lemonade all the way. The one person Lauren wanted to see more than anyone was Demi. She saw her sitting over in a chair and walked over to talk to her. "Um, Hi Demi." Lauren wasn't quite sure where she stood with Demi. Now was as good a time as any to find out.

glancing up, danica smile as she saw one of her favorite people approach her. not only has he quit enice, she thought he was quite attractive too. looks were always a plus for her. like the prize you got in the cracker-jack box. "oh, bonjour jason," she replied, keeping her usual smile on her face. she still wondered if he found that creepy or not. she noticed that she did smile a lot, but hey, she never knew being happy was a problem. "you look nice," she told him as she looked at him up and down. danica always liked guys who actually dressed nice for events, unlike some guys she had gotten to know since she moved to america. they dressed like slobs all the time and she found it to be quite annoying. thank goodness guys here had some class.

Demi got up once from her chair only once to pour herself a glass of lemonade. Then she sat back down in her regular chair, watching Danica and Jason talk, and Lyane and Clarisse. She knew way better by now not to talk to those two, no matter what. And Danica looked like a nice girl, but since she was talking to a member of the Kings, Jason, she stayed away. Jason looked like a reasonably nice guy, as well, but she was not ready to talk to anyone high up in the social class. Plus, she did not want to ruin the Homecoming Dance, supposed to be the best day of her life. Or something else that always happens in the movies. Demi sat quietly and then saw a girl walk up. She smiled slightly, "Hi," she said quietly, "You're Lauren, right?" she asked, recognizing the girl.

"Yeah." Lauren nodded as she spoke. "So why doesn't Brooke like you?" she asked tentatively. "Did you smudge her makeup or something? I can't see any other reason for her to hate you enough to attempt sabatoge your friendship with Lyane." Lauren stabbed a piece of pasta and chewed while waiting for Demi's answer. Demi was fairly pretty and didn't seem to think she was superior to her classmates which, so far, wasn't something to be taken for granted.

Demi shook her head. "You obviously were not at the open mike night the day before school started?" she assumed. She was surprised by her question, actually. She thought everyone knew why Brooke obviously hated her. "She asked my to join her clique," she said quietly, taking a sip of her lemonade. She looked around her for a moment, to see if anyone new had arrived, then finished her answer, "And I said no," she added plainly. No regret in her voice. if anything, almost a joyful tone that she used, but tried to hide it.

Ellie had been here for a week or so, and already she was on the dance comittee and going to her first dance. When she called her foster parents to see if there was any money to spare, and they had been so happy she was going to her first dance. They had given her a generous amount of money for her outfit, and she was so grateful. She had purchased a black dress with matching rosettes on the shoulder, and betsey johnson shoes and a ring.
She came to the dance, and noticed that maybe heels weren't the best thing to wear. After all, with each step she sunk into the sand. She found her way to Lyane and motioned that she was going to change the music. She plugged in her iPod, and started on a playlist that she had prepared for tonight. The first song on the list was Here (In Your Arms) by Hello Goodbye. The song filled the air. To bad no one was dancing yet.

"Oh," Lauren replied genuinely shocked. "I guess I've got a lot of history to catch up on! Any other poisonous students you should alert me to?" Hearing someone else enter the room, she turned. A brunette in an expensive looking ensemble had just walked in. She changed the song and Lauren was suddenly hit by the fact that this WAS a dance. She scanned the dance floor for available boys. Seeing none, she turned back to Demi.

Danica greeted him in french, which he had now learned was the norm for her. "Hola," he said. She wasn't the only one who could speak another language, you know. He laughed in his but he just smiled on the outside. She said he looked nice, which was the look he was going for. "Thanks, you look good too." he added.

"merci," danica said as she looked down at her shoes for a moment. she quickly looked back up, "so, how has the whole clique problem been?" she asked. she rmembered that the last thime they spoke, he had mentioned that he wanted to get out of the kings due to the fact that he thought he was only in it because of his brothers. she could believe that. danica honestly thought that his brother shane was a jerk, nick just went along with it all like a little puppy and jason was just well, not like them, but that was just her opinion.
